River boarding is a board sport in which the participant lies prone on their board with fins on their feet for propulsion and steering. This sport is also known as hydro speed in Europe and as river boarding or white-water sledging in New Zealand, depending on the type of board used. River boarding is done using a high-flotation river board, designed for buoyancy in highly aerated water. 

Rafting team is proud to be the one & only river boarding outfitter in Sri Lanka introducing River boarding for the first time which is a most extreme export in many other countries. The Trip

  • Once your arrival to our place you will have brief about the trip. Then you will be equipped with required gears & will be dropped to the beginning place.

  • At the river, there will be a safety talk and instruction before jumping in the river. You will spend some time at the starting point learning to control your board and rescuing yourself before heading down the river.

  • The rapids generally start easy and get harder as you go down the river passing through rapids, surfing waves and playing on the way.  

  • 7 exciting rapids including 2 surprises. River rapids are rated class 1 ,2 and class 3 (easy to moderate)  

  • For the brave there may be a chance to push some harder rapids, but anyway you go, all will be completely supervised by our professional team.

  • The tour includes a hot COFFEE/TEA served after the tour. 

Experience & Fitness No previous body boarding experience is necessary if good swimming skills are combined with a “GO FOR IT” attitude. A reasonable level of fitness is also required.

Trip Duration 

  • 1.30-2.00 Hours with instruction time. 

Guest Requirements 

  • Min Age 15.

  • GOOD Physical Health. Participants must be physically fit and able to swim.  

  • GOOD Swimmer.

  • Sober.

  • Please inform us of any medical conditions like asthma, epilepsy etc.

  • Maximum weight: 220 lbs.  

  • Not recommended for pregnant women or persons with back or neck injuries. 


  • Changing place. 

  • Safety raft. 

  • Tea/coffee after tour. 

  • Transport to the beginning place. 

  • Refreshment at the end of the trip. 

Bring with you! 

  • Swimming suit/shorts, changing cloth. 

Minimum & Maximum Guests 

  • Minimum of 2 clients.

  • No maximum number of clients.(but only 4 persons are allowed in one time) 

 The minimum age is 15 years. Children under 15 years may participate subject to consultation between parents and trip leader. They can either go for flat area. The maximum age limit is dependent on the individual’s general state of health, physical fitness and consultation with trip leader. 

Guides are fully trained professionals and hold a valid first aid certificate. Clients must be aware that any water activity contains an element of risk. A comprehensive first aid kid is carried on each trip. Each client is required to sign the liability waiver before the trip.
